About Arimokko — Singapore's Bespoke Carpentry House Since 1999
Arimokko is a premium bespoke carpentry and cabinetry company serving Singapore and Malaysia. Founded as Urban Deco in 1999 by Don Lim, we design, fabricate, and install custom kitchens, walk-in wardrobes, TV feature walls, library shelving, and full-home joinery for homes that deserve more than off-the-shelf furniture.
Our Story
Twenty-seven years ago, Don Lim founded Urban Deco in Singapore to bring craft-led interior carpentry to homeowners across the city-state. Through three decades of evolution, expansion into commercial design and sustained reinvestment in manufacturing technology, the business has become what is today known as Arimokko (Mokko Sdn Bhd) — a vertically integrated carpentry house operating its own factory in Senai, Johor, and a design studio at Aperia Mall in Kallang, Singapore.
Most of our growth has come through return clients and the trust of interior designers who use us as their dedicated manufacturing partner. The name itself — Ari (蟻) means "ants" in Japanese, Mokko (木工) means "woodworking" — reflects our philosophy of working with natural materials with the same intricate precision as carpenter ants tunnel through wood.
Our Founder — Don Lim
Don Lim has spent his career advancing the craft and standards of the Singapore carpentry industry. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of both the Specialists Trade Alliance of Singapore (STAS) and the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC), contributing directly to the certification frameworks the industry now builds to.
Don remains personally involved in client consultations and quality control at the Senai factory. Every Bespoke Suite project — and every full-home commission — passes through his desk before fabrication begins.
The Senai Factory and Singapore Studio
Our manufacturing facility in Senai, Johor (100 Jalan Sinergi 6, Taman Perindustrian Sinergi) runs Felder and Biesse CNC machines linked directly to our 3D design software. Every cabinet is cut to ±0.1mm tolerance, edge-banded on the same automated line, and quality-checked by our QC team before delivery.
Our Singapore design office is at 12 Kallang Avenue, #03-07 Aperia Mall (Singapore 339511). This is where consultations happen — we meet you, sketch your space, and walk through finishes, hardware, and pricing in person. A separate carpentry workshop at 7 Mandai Link supports our Singapore-based installation and service teams.

Why We Do What We Do
We build cabinetry the way we'd build it for our own homes — engineered for thirty years of daily use, finished with E1-rated low-formaldehyde melamine, fitted with genuine Blum hardware made in Austria, and installed by our own craftsmen, not subcontractors.
This is the same vertically integrated model used by Plain English in the UK or deVOL in Loughborough — rare in Singapore, but we believe it's the only model that produces consistent quality at scale.
